Acting Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) administrator Billy Nolen announced he is leaving the agency this summer, leaving a leadership void that hasn’t had a Senate-confirmed leader for more than a year. Nolen announced his departure in a letter to FAA staff. He did not say if he has another job, but it appears he intends to stay until the President nominates and/or the new candidate is confirmed. Nolen had only been with the FAAA for a few months as head of safety, when Administrator Steve Dickson resigned. (AvWeb 04/22/23)
