Cmdr. Bradley Thompson became commander of the "Eagles” of Training Squadron (VT) 7 on April 28 at a change of command ceremony, where he relieved retiring Cmdr. Greg Enzinger, aboard Naval Air Station Meridian. Thompson, a Naval Academy graduate, takes the helm after serving 15 months as executive officer of VT-7. After receiving his commission, Thompson reported to NAS Pensacola, Fla., for flight training and earned his Wings of Gold from VT-7 in January 2008. He has deployed with the aircraft carriers USS George Washington (CVN-73) and USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69).
Enzinger, who had served as commanding officer since January 2022, retired after 20 years of naval service. During his tour as CO, the squadron accrued more than 35,000 flight hours and designated 153 Naval aviators. (Meridian Star 04/28/23)
