The Mississippi Gulf Coast is now the fifth-largest gaming market in America, according to the American Gaming Association. Mississippi Gaming Commission records show that casinos in state generated nearly $2.6B in revenue in 2022. More than $1.6B (about 62%) in revenue was generated in casinos along the Gulf Coast. Out-of-state tourism is a driving force of money circulating throughout the state's gaming industry. The coast is 50-plus percent tourist related. In Tunica, they're coming from Tennessee and Arkansas. Tunica was ranked No. 19 in the gaming market. (SuperTalk Mississippi 02/16/23)
