Coast Guard Station (CGS) New Orleans is scheduled to host a free open-to-the-public Community Day on Feb. 24 from 1-3 p.m. The station is located in Metairie, La. Area CG unit members will display equipment and discuss various CG missions - from air and boat crews to law enforcement and rescue swimmers. CGS New Orleans is located on the southern shore of Lake Pontchartrain and consists of 77 active duty, civilian and reserve personnel and with eight response boats.
