NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard medevaced a 58-year-old fishing vessel passenger Feb. 20 about 185 miles south of White Lake, La. The CG received a call from the fishing vessel New Buccaneer stating the male passenger was experiencing stroke-like symptoms. The CG launched two aircraft, a Texas-based HC-144 Ocean Sentry, and a New Orleans-based MH-60 Jayhawk aircrew. The Ocean Sentry aircrew first located the vessel and established radio communication. The helicopter aircrew hoisted the passenger aboard and transferred him to University Medical Center New Orleans. He was last reported in stable condition.
