LUKE AFB, Ariz. - The sound of jets over a screaming crowd. For most watching the Super Bowl, the pre-game flyover lasts but seconds. But for the aircrew that makes it happen, those seconds take months of preparation. The flyover for Super Bowl 57 on Feb. 13 will add history to the spectacle - an all-female aircrew takes to the skies to celebrate 50 years of women flying for the Navy. “It’s any pilots dream to do this,” said Lt. Caitie Perkowski, of Albuquerque, N.M. "I think it’s a great testament in naval aviation,” said Lt. Suzelle Thomas, of Birmingham, Ala. Perkowski and Thomas both received their wings of gold at Naval Air Station Meridian, Miss. (Arizona Republic/WTOK 02/10/23) Super Bowl 57 flyover: All-female air crew makes history (azcentral.com)
