PASCAGOULA, Miss. - The third ship in the Navy’s Zumwalt-class of guided missile destroyers, USS Lyndon B. Johnson (DDG 1002), arrived at Ingalls shipyard Jan. 17, where HII-Pascagoula shipbuilders will complete the final phase of construction. DDG 1002 left Bath (Maine) Iron Works on Jan. 12 where construction began. At HII-Pascagoula, the ship will receive its final outfitting, combat systems installation, testing and activation. Delivery of the completed ship to the Navy is expected in 2024. (Source: WLOX 01/17/22)
