Seven months after a jury found him guilty of 46 counts of fraud and conspiracy for the 2017 collapse of First NBC Bank, bank founder and ex-president/CEO Ashton Ryan was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison. He will have to pay $214M in restitution. 

* There's a class-action lawsuit settlement against former nursing home operator Bob Dean, sued for the botched evacuation of seven homes during Hurricane Ida in 2021. Days before the 2-year storm's anniversary, settlement checks are going out to 400 victims and their families.
