NIH grant renewal for MS INBRE

The renewal of a 5-year National Institutes of Health research grant totaling more than $21M for the Mississippi IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence, HQ'd at the University of Southern Mississippi, was announced Sept. 6.

The MS INBRE program is a statewide network of colleges and universities, designed to strengthen the biomedical research infrastructure in Mississippi.

Although the renewal period just launched Sept. 1, the network has already established new research labs at the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University.

The renewal will support research across the state and help build its workforce to address below-average health outcomes and create a better, healthier Mississippi.

In addition to that, a key part of MS INBRE’s mission to continue conducting research into the state’s top public health issues, such as obesity and diabetes. (USM 09/06/23) USM Research Network Announces $21 Million NIH Grant Renewal | The University of Southern Mississippi
