NEW ORLEANS - The United Auto Workers union strike against the top three automobile manufacturing companies could have and affect to regional auto shops and dealerships - depending how long the strike lasts.
"If we can't get the parts, then we can't fix the cars," said Blake Weller with NOLA Automotive Repair. "That's the only thing that I could maybe foresee in this situation."
Currently, his biggest concern is a potential delay in the delivery of care parts, which may impact customers who are trying to get their cars back on the road.
From a buyer's perspective, the Lamarque Ford dealership indicated that, in the short term, the impact would be minimal, but if it lasts a longer period there may be changes to the price of automobiles, if the supply is low. (WDSU 09/15/23)
