GULFPORT, Miss. - Twenty Mississippi Power crewmen from Gulfport left early Jan. 16 headed to Georgia to assist with potential power outages. The 20 are traveling with 120+ workers from company branches on the Gulf Coast. The plan is for workers to be on standby until they’re assigned to designated areas affected. Georgia is expected to have snowy and icy conditions so workers must prepare.
