Safran plans 12K new hires in '22

PARIS - Jet engine maker Safran believes the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis in aviation will be over in 2022, and announced plans to hire 12,000 people worldwide to build its capacity back, CEO Olivier Andries told the French newspaper Figaro. Air traffic is recovering, placing of orders is “dynamic (and) the tempo is increasing,” he is quoted by Figaro. Andries says Safran has “decided to relaunch our hiring” with 3,000 of those new jobs in France. Safran is the world's third largest aerospace contractor and with General Electric it co-produces engines for Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
