MOBILE, Ala. - After nearly two years without cruise ships sailing in and out of Mobile, Ala., Carnival Cruise Lines announced its Carnival Sensation will set sail beginning March 5 for the first time from The Port City since the pandemic began. The ship will set sail on 5-night cruises to Cozumel, Mexico, according to Cruise Industry News. Sensation can accommodate up to 2,100 passengers. The news doesn't come at a good time for Mobile. In the wake of Omicron and increased COVID-19 cases, the CDC is not recommending people go on cruises. The Cruise Lines International Association says it disagrees with the CDC and believes the industry is being singled out. (Source: WPMI 12/31/21)
