CG 'medevacs' charter crewman

NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard medically evacuated (medevaced) a 47-year-old man on July 4 about 20 miles south of Gulf Shores, Ala. CG Sector Mobile (Ala.) received a report of a medical emergency from a fishing charter that a crewmember was losing consciousness and reportedly experiencing seizures. The CG launched an MH-65 Dolphin aircrew from CG Air Station New Orleans to assist. The crew hoisted the man aboard the helo and transferred him to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla., for medical care.
