Starkville, Miss.-founded Canigan Microsystems, a research and development and product development company, is expanding at its location within the Thad Cochran Research, Technology and Economic Development Park in Starkville. The company is adding 25 new jobs to support its growth. “Canigan is a golden example of a high-tech Mississippi company doing great things here at home and around the world,” said Gov. Tate Reeves. “Some of the nation’s brightest engineers are located here in … the Silicon Valley of the South,” he continued. Canigan is an award-winning developer of intelligent software systems and artificial intelligence that drive improvements in speed and quality of critical decisions for the American military and some of the world’s leading corporations. In March, Canigan was awarded a $6.9M Army contract to develop a “next-gen” intelligence system for detecting drone threats. Canigan was named one of the fastest-growing private companies in America by Inc. Magazine.
