WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ark. - Former Mississippi state senator John Morgan, 76, was killed May 17 when an 8-passenger Beech King Air 90 aircraft he piloted crashed in thick woods between Brentwood and Winslow in western Arkansas.
A helicopter crew saw debris and a ground crew found the wreckage about 3:40 p.m. Morgan's body was taken to the state laboratory in Little Rock to confirm his identity, the Washington County Sheriff Department posted.
The first report of the airplane having gone down wase made by the FAA's Fort Smith tower.
The crash was on private property in steep, rugged terrain, the sheriff reported.
