JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Commander, Navy Region Southeast (CNRSE) held a change of command ceremony May 5 aboard NAS Jacksonville today. Captain Ian L. Johnson relieved Rear Adm. Wes R. McCall as the region’s commander. He received the Legion of Merit at the end of the ceremony. McCall had been CNRSE's leader since April 2021. CNRSE is the Navy’s largest shore enterprise component, providing support to 18 installations (including NAS Meridian, NCBC Gulfport and NAS JRB New Orleans) and more than 500 smaller facilities across the southeast and Caribbean. Johnson is the region’s 43rd commander. He is a U.S. Naval Academy graduate with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He earned the designation as a Submarine Officer. Johnson's previous assignments include Commanding Officer of Naval Station Newport (Va.) and most recently as Chief of Staff to Commander, Navy Installations Command. (Navy Region Southeast 05/05/23)
