Lake Charles LNG, a liquefied natural gas facility in SW Louisiana, has signed a 25-year deal to supply LNG to the China Gas Hongda Energy Trading Co. LTD, a subsidiary of China Gas. The deal was made under a special purchasing agreement (SPA). Lake Charles LNG will supply 700M metric tons annually to China Gas, which distributes natural gas to 30 entities within China. The first shipment to China is anticipated by 2026. Lake Charles LNG is owned by Energy Transfer LP, a Dallas firm. The Louisiana facility is changing from an import terminal to an export terminal.
