NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard, state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office are searching for a Black male who went missing after his vessel took on water near Baton Rouge, La., on the evening of June 8. He was last seen in the water without a lifejacket near mile marker 232 on the Lower Mississippi River. The Coast Guard is assisting with a 29-foot Response Boat and crew. UPDATE: SEARCH SUSPENDED
The Coast Guard suspended its search for missing the mariner on June 9. Rescue crews searched for about 24 hours, covering more than 115 miles along the Mississippi River. (Source: Coast Guard 06/09/22)
