Carbon-capture solutions in LA?

Honeywell and EnLink Midstream LLC are partnering to market carbon-capture solutions for carbon dioxide emitting companies along the Mississippi River from New Orleans to Baton Rouge, the firms announced June 9. They will promote Honeywell’s carbon capture technologies, and also plan to make available Honeywell’s hydrogen purification technologies for lower-carbon hydrogen production and EnLink’s planned carbon dioxide transportation network. EnLink had already announced a deal with Oxy Low Carbon Ventures to transport carbon dioxide along the Mississippi River corridor to Oxy’s carbon sequestration facility in Livingston Parish. When coupled with Honeywell's carbon capture and hydrogen technologies, EnLink provides customers with a cost-effective approach to CO2 capture and transportation to accelerate carbon reductions in the region, according to EnLink Chairman and CEO Barry Davis. Carbon capture involves trapping carbon emissions on site and burying them deep underground. Industry advocates say it is the best way to reduce emissions and still meet energy/chemical demands.
