NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard medevaced a 69-year-old man from a Norway-flagged seismology research vessel Oct. 12 about 135 miles SW of Southwest Pass, La.
The CG received a call at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 11 from the crew of the vessel Artemis Arctic reporting a crewmember experiencing heart attack-like symptoms.
The CG launched a New Orleans-based MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew. The aircrew hoisted the patient and transferred him to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at the University Medical Center in New Orleans.
