Capt. Weurielus “Trey” Johnson, commanding officer of NCTC Gulfport, Miss., and command color guard, represented NCBC at a Navy birthday celebration at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport.
“For the last 248 years, our Navy has been standing the watch," Capt. Johnson told the residents. He thanked each veteran for standing the watch during their service to America and "sacrificing to ensure the freedom" of America.
"From NCBC Gulfport to ships and detachments deployed worldwide, your shipmates have the watch,” he concluded. (NCBC Gulfport 10/13/23)
