BELLE CHASSE, La. - The Port of Plaquemines announced it will rebuild the previously condemned Pointe a la Hache ferry ramps.
The Pointe a la Hache ferry ramps have historically served as a crucial gateway for residents, businesses and visitors, connecting Pointe a la Hache with the surrounding areas.
The Port has taken up responsibility to restore the essential link and revitalize the region’s transportation network.
As part of its commitment, the Port will collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop a comprehensive plan for the reconstruction. The project cost is estimated to cost $14M.
Initial design will begin within the next 90 days, with full design completed in about six months.
