Plaquemines port rail extension

Plaquemines (La.) Port Harbor and Terminal District Executive Director Charles Tillotson has signed a sale and purchase agreement allowing the Port to proceed with the engineering design of the 11-mile rail extension starting south of CHS Inc., near Myrtle Grove, La., and ending along Highway 23. The Port is committed to completing the intellectual property and engineering within six months. 

Further, the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority is committed to building and paying for a rail bridge across the diversion project. (PPH&TD 07/20/23)
