NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard rescued seven boaters from a grounded vessel near North Breton Island, La.
The CG received a report of a 30-foot center console vessel aground with seven people aboard around 5:45 p.m. on July 22.
The CG launched a New Orleans-based MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew that found and hoisted the boaters aboard and transferring them New Orleans Lakefront Airport.
No injuries were reported. Click here to download video.
Background: Breton Island is a group of islands in the Gulf of Mexico near the mouth of the Mississippi River and part of Plaquemines Parish. It is part of the Breton National Wildlife Refuge.
