A Starbucks store in Memphis, which fired seven employees in February for efforts to unionize, will reinstate those workers after losing an appeal of a lower court’s order to reinstate them. Starbucks said the employees violated company policy for inviting non-workers to the store after closing time. But the National Labor Relations Board disagreed with the firm saying it interfered with the right to organize and asked a federal court to intervene. A 3-judge panel from the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals sided with the lower court. Since late 2021, 230+ Starbucks stores have voted to unionize. Starbucks opposes unionization.
