Gov. Kay Ivey officially opened the new Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering magnet school Sept. 23 in Huntsville calling it a “testimony to (the state’s) commitment to being innovative." It is the only high school in America, she said, “focused on integrating cyber technology and engineering into the academic disciplines.” The school has 254 students: 151 commuters and 103 boarding on campus with 38% being female and 38% minority students.
