Got to register to vote in primary

Mississippi's primary election is Aug. 8. Potential voters need to register by Monday, July 10, to participate.

Mississippians can either go in-person to their county's circuit or municipal clerk's office by 5 p.m. July 10. There's the option to mail registration applications, but they can be postmarked no later than July 10.

Visit the county clerk's office to receive in-person and mail-in absentee ballots.

To verify that you are eligible for absentee voting, Mississippians can utilize the Step-By-Step Absentee Guide from the Secretary of State's Office. You can also contact your local circuit clerk. If eligible, ballots will be provided upon request by your circuit clerk. (Clarion Ledger 07/06/23)
