The Ruby Tuesday restaurant chain has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and will close 185 locations permanently across the U.S. as part of a restructuring plan. The restaurant chain had already closed one-third of its locations in 2020, out of its roughly 450 restaurants, according to Business Insider. More closures may be coming as it assesses “the impact of new regulations. The announcement does not mean goodbye, according to Shawn Lederman, Ruby Tuesday’s CEO. “Today’s actions will allow us an opportunity to reposition the company for long-term stability.” (Source: Magnolia State 10/13/20) Mississippi Note: Ruby’s has 11 locations in Mississippi: Pearl, McComb, Starkville, Jackson, Flowood, D’Iberville, Moss Point, Ridgeland, Tupelo, Natchez, and Corinth.
