NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard is conducting incident search and rescue (SAR) overflights operations Oct. 10 across the western Gulf Coast after Hurricane Delta's landfall. A Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile, Ala., HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircrew conducted overflights near Lake Charles to assess damage and identify hazards. MH-60 Jayhawk and MH-65 Dolphin helicopters aircrews conducted overflights near Lake Charles areas. The aircrews were conducting SAR overflights to check for anyone in distress. As of 1 p.m. Saturday, there have been no reports of CG post-storm emergency distress calls, or SAR incidents. People in life threatening danger should call 911 to report distress.
