NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard rescued three boaters from a vessel taking on water 8 miles south of Pascagoula, Miss., early on June 14.
Coast Guard Sector Mobile, Ala., received a VHF-FM channel 16 notification call around 1:30 a.m. from the crew of the 55-foot fishing vessel 'Capt Quintinn' stating they were taking on water.
The CG launched a New Orleans-based MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew and a Pascagoula-based 45-foot Response Boat & Crew.
The helicopter landed on Horn Island, retrieved the boaters and transferred them to the Gulfport (Miss.) International Airport. There were no reported injuries. (Coast Guard 06/14/23)
