NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard medically evacuated a crewman for the commercial fishing vessel Danna B on June 21 Pass a Loutre, La., in Plaquemine Parish. The CG received a call via VHF-FM channel 16 at 4:30 a.m. from the fishing vessel stating a crewmember was experiencing suspected drug withdrawal symptoms. The CG diverted a Venice-based Response Boat and rescue crew, which arrived on scene and transported and transferred the crewman to awaiting emergency medical services personnel back at CG Station Venice. The crewman was last reported to be in stable condition. (Coast Guard 06/20/23) Pass-a-Loutre is located at the mouth of the Mississippi River, about 10 miles south of Venice.
