Brig. Gen. Gavin Marks is the U.S. Air Force Academy’s new Commandant of Cadets. He will lead the 4,300-member Cadet Wing and a team of more than 200 Air Force, U.S. Space Force and civilian personnel.
Marks is replacing Brig. Gen. Paul Moga, who has commanded the Cadet Wing since May 2021. Moga has been selected for promotion to major general, and departs for Ramstein Air Base, Germany, where he will serve as the Chief of Staff, Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa.
Marks is a graduate of the Academy, earning his commission in 1996 and his pilot wings from Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training at Columbus AFB, Miss. He has served as a T-1A instructor pilot and flight examiner, an Air Force Intern, a staff officer on multiple joint staffs, and has commanded at the squadron and wing levels.
