Mississippi State University College of Business professor, Dr. Merrill Warkentin, will be among a group of experts at an MIT Technology Review virtual forum June 27 to discuss harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI) for future cybersecurity endeavors.
Dr. Warkentin, a Giles Distinguished Professor and James J. Rouse Endowed Professor of Information, is one of five academia, government and industry representatives to be featured in MIT Technology Review event “Cybersecurity in the Era of Generative AI.”
The panel will explore topics including the impact of generative AI and how to leverage it effectively against threats; strengths and weaknesses of different types of AI; embedded AI solutions; and practical guidance and actionable insights. Dr. Warkentin's primary research focus is in behavioral IS security - designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of computer system data from those with malicious intentions - and privacy. He has been identified (in a study by Stanford University) as one of the top 2% of global scientists for his academic impact.
