BAY ST LOUIS, Miss. - The Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission has partnered with Mississippi Enterprise for Technology (MSET) to open a new satellite office at NASA’s John C. Stennis Space Center.
The new satellite office will be located in the Mississippi Technology Transfer Center at 1103 Balch Blvd. at Stennis Space Center. HCPHC’s new office allows staff to engage and meet with existing industry at Stennis and create new connections with emerging industries.
Mississippi Enterprise for Technology (MSET), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, fosters regional economic development by harnessing the combined resources of SSC, Mississippi and local entities to promote business opportunities among both public and private entities.
In partnering with HCPHC, MSET President/CEO Davis Pace said in a media release: MSET's "long-standing relationship with Hancock County and the Commission will be strengthened as we work hand in hand to grow the ecosystem at Stennis.”
HCPHC anticipates the partnership and opportunity to establish new connections within industries, while expanding its existing relationships. HCPHC expects to move into the satellite office in early November.
HCPHC Executive Director/CEO Blaine LaFontaine believes this is the first step in a long-term effort and partnership.
"More importantly, we are eager to advance these partnerships focused on new industry opportunities and joint effort efforts to improve the ecosystem and future Stennis Space Center and Hancock County.” (HCPHC 11/0823)
