Divers and remotely operated underwater vehicles have inspected more than 23 miles of the Main Pass Oil Gathering company's pipeline system believed to be responsible for spilling up to 1.1M gallons of crude oil off Louisiana's coast, the Coast Guard said on Nov. 22.
But officials still haven't found the location of the leak.
"Overflights have observed no new visible sheens," the Coast Guard said in a news release. "Wildlife and shoreline assessments, conducted today, observed no oiled wildlife, shoreline oiling or oil on the water."
Representatives of federal and state agencies responding to the spill and Main Pass officials will issue its next update on Nov. 28. (NOLA.com 11/23/23) Oil spill source not found after 23-mile pipeline inspection | Business News | nola.com
