New airport fare data took the 100 busiest airports in the U.S. and ranked them by one metric: which have the highest average fare?
The most expensive airports, and their ratings, concluded that the Ted Stevens Anchorage (Alaska) International Airport was the most expensive at $504. Number 3 was Washington Dulles at $508; and Reagan National (DC) #60 at $376.
Regionally, Birmingham (Ala.)-Shuttlesworth was #5 at $479; Pensacola (Fla.) International #9 at $455; Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta was #41 at $401; Memphis International was #42 at $392; Nashville International #79 at $341; and # 88 was Louis Armstrong International, New Orleans.
