Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III announced that the president has made the following nominations (involving Gulf Coast regional personnel).
* Marine Corps Reserve Brig. Gen. William E. Souza III for appointment to the grade of major general. Souza is currently serving as commanding general, 4th Marine Logistics Group, U.S. Marine Forces Reserve, New Orleans, Louisiana.
* Marine Corps Reserve Col. Raymond L. Adams for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Adams is currently serving as deputy commander, Force Headquarters Group, U.S. Marine Forces Reserve, New Orleans, Louisiana.
* Air Force Lt. Gen. James C. Slife for appointment to the grade of 0lieutenant general, with assignment as deputy chief of staff, Operations, Headquarters, U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Slife is currently serving as commander, Air Force Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field, Florida.
* Air National Guard Maj. Gen. Steven S. Nordhaus for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general, with assignment as commander, Continental U.S. North American Aerospace Defense Command Region; and commander, First Air Force (Air Forces Northern), Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. Nordhaus is currently serving as the director of Domestic Operations and Force Development, J3/4/7, National Guard Bureau, Arlington, Virginia. (DoD 11/16/22)
