MS Power proposes rate increase

Mississippi Power has filed documents with the Public Service Commission to show how fuel rates - primarily natural gas - are impacting the cost of producing electricity, and how it may affect customers' bills. Inflation is driving up the cost of electricity. The proposed increase will be $6/month for the average residential customer using 1,000 kw monthly. MP has asked the PSC to approve its phase-in approach to charge $3 more starting with the February billing cycle. The other $3 would be added in June. (Sun Herald 11/17/28) Mississippi Power customers may see increase on electric bills next year. Here's why. | Energy Central
