MSU to host vets' recognition ceremony Nov. 10

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State University will honor U.S. veterans as part of its annual y Veterans Recognition Ceremony Nov. 10. MSU President Mark E. Keenum will be the featured speaker for the 2 p.m. event on the Drill Field, which is free and open to all. (MSU 11/07/22) 

Lewis named among top businesswomen in Mississippi

Monica Lewis, Ph.D., director of Development for Jackson State University Athletics, was named one of 2022’s Top 50 Distinguished Leading Business Women in Mississippi. The recognition program presented by the Mississippi Business Journal honors Mississippi’s most powerful and influential women business leaders. Lewis was selected from several hundred qualified nominations from across Mississippi. Lewis has garnered over $11.2 million for JSU through her fundraising initiatives and program implementation. She also serves as a campus advisor for the Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF)/ HBCU initiative. She is a native of Carthage, Miss. Lewis joined JSU in 2014 and also serves as the executive director of the JSU Tiger Fund Athletic Foundation. Lewis is an alumna of JSU. Lewis is an active member of the Junior League of Jackson and a member of the Leake County NAACP and Women for Progress of MS, Inc., She also serves on various nonprofit and community-based boards.
