Master Boat Builders Inc. announced it has a contract to build two new 86-foot tugboats at its Coden, Ala., shipyard for Moran Towing Corp. of New Canaan, Conn. The new tugs will be the first MBB will build for Moran Towing - one of the oldest maritime operators across America. The new tugboats will produce a bollard pull of over 55 metric tons. Moran Towing provides vessel towing, bulk marine transportation, LNG support operations, and environmental recovery services. Naval architect and marine engineering firm Crowley Engineering Services created the design. Crowley has sites in Gulfport, Miss., and Lake Charles, La. (Work Boat 11/23/22)
