Emergency workers and storm-survey teams spread out across Middle Tennessee on Dec. 10 after the greater Nashville region was pummeled by "six likely" tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service.
Six people are confirmed dead in Clarksville and Madison. Montgomery County officials reported that 23 people were treated at hospitals for storm-related injuries.
The hardest-hit areas of Clarksville, Madison, Hendersonville, Gallatin and Springfield are being surveyed by NWS officials to determine the strength of the storms and whether they were officially tornadoes, according to NWS meteorologist Cory Mueller.
