On the north end of the runway at Stennis International Airport a Florida construction company is completing the assembly of a hangar that will temporarily house a history-making aircraft arriving in early 2024.
The aircraft, Solar Impulse 2, made the first unmanned around-the-world flight powered solely by energy from the sun.

More than 120 Louisiana businesses can tap into the growing offshore wind industry taking shape on the East Coast, according to a new report.
Many of the Louisiana firms have serviced the Gulf of Mexico’s offshore oil and gas industry and can apply the same skills, tools and infrastructure toward the construction and maintenance of offshore wind farms, said Michael Hecht, CEO of Greater New Orleans, Inc., a regional economic development group that produced the report with RWE, a German offshore wind company with strong interest in developing wind farms in the Gulf. 123 Louisiana firms poised for offshore wind opportunities | Environment | nola.com
