A committee has selected a proposed new name for the Mississippi University for Women, but it won’t be made public until name-change legislation is filed, President Nora Miller said Dec. 22.
The name change would take effect July 1, if the legislature approves it.
The next legislative session begins Jan. 2.
Miller said the hopeful new name is tied to the university’s tradition, but she declined to offer other hints. (The Dispatch 12/22/23)
