PENSACOLA, Fla. - Navy Security Forces in conjunction with Pensacola-area law enforcement responded to a bomb threat around 9:35 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6, onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola.
No one was injured. The individual suspected of making the threat has been apprehended.
The threat occurred on the fourth anniversary of a deadly terrorist attack on the base when a Saudi-student shot and killed three sailors.
Commanding Officer Capt. Terry Shashaty lauded the efforts of NSF and responding local law enforcement agencies during the hour-long incident.
The CO also indicated that the two incidents were unrelated. (NASP media release 12/06/23)
