Nurses' union vote; plant closing

Nurses at LCMC's University Medical Center in New Orleans have registered with the National Labor Relations Board their intention to vote on forming a union.

The vote will be held Dec. 7-9 at UMC's COVID vaccine clinic. The votes will be counted in the evening of Dec. 9. If successful, it will be the first union of healthcare workers formed in Louisiana.

With 750 eligible members, the LCMC nurses would be one of the largest unions in the state if the vote is successful. University Medical Center nurses will vote on union | News | nola.com
