Mississippi homeowners, renters, business owners and non-profits in eight counties face a Dec. 22 deadline to apply for federal disaster assistance for damages caused by Hurricane Ida. Those counties include Amite, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River, Pike, Walthall and Wilkinson, according to a Federal Emergency Management Agency news release. Residents can apply for by visiting DisasterAssistance.gov or calling toll free to (800) 621-3362 or using the FEMA mobile application, the news release stated.
