East Mississippi Community College’s Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program is returning to the Scooba campus after a 19-year absence. “Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, there is a nursing shortage in that area,” said EMCC Division of Nursing/Allied Health Director and Dean of Health Sciences Dr. Tonsha Emerson. LPN classes - open to 15 students - start Jan. 10. The deadline to apply is Dec. 3. Students who successfully complete the one-year course will graduate in December. Short-term winter classes: EMCC will be offering short-term classes during the 2022 Winter Term for students who want to pick up additional credits. Enrollment for the online winter-break classes is open to current EMCC students, students from other colleges and universities, dual enrollment students, high school graduates and working professionals.
