German auto supplier comes to MS

BALDWYN, Miss. - German automotive supplier, Dr. Schneider Automotive Systems (DASS), will be creating 400 jobs here in the next six years at the Harry A. Martin North Lee Industrial Park. DASS is a global automotive supplier of air ventilation systems and window frame trim. The firm is investing $22.5M to the Mississippi project in Lee County. The family-owned company, with a 90+ year history, is a specialist in high-quality automotive interior products. Among its customers are BMW, Daimler AG, Ferrari, Ford, Jaguar/Land Rover, Maserati, Renault, Toyota, Volvo and the Volkswagen Group. The company is "excited about the opportunity of establishing a new footprint in Lee County," said company CEO Antonio Ramos. Mississippi Development Authority is providing a $1.5M grant for building improvements; a $500,000 grant for road/parking improvements; and $400,000 for workforce training. Lee County is providing local property tax exemptions. TVA is also assisting with  project.
