TUPELO, Miss. - Pierce Street Elementary in Tupelo was one of two Mississippi, and one of a 100 schools across the nation, to be named a 2021 National Distinguished School by The National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators. According to the Tupelo Public School District, Pierce Street Elementary was chosen for its success in educational programs and student progress. Cherokee Elementary in Pascagoula was the other state school selected. The schools will be recognized at a conference in New Orleans in February.
